I am thinking of ABC child care. Do they have a good reputation around here? Also centerlink pays some of the cost isn’t it?I am new to Melbourne so I appreciate any info. Thanks very much.

  1. Tony W says:

If it is full time child care it will cost between $90.00 and $170 per week unless you go for the highest standards which will be more. Make sure you check up on references and go with gut instinct.

I live in Sydney and childcare around here costs anywhere from $55-$85 per day.
We also have ABC Learning Centres here and they have a very good reputation. The only problem is they have long waitlists to get in.
Yes, Centrelink does help pay for the cost of childcare. The amount you are paid is based on your yearly income. They also have the 30% childcare tax rebate at the end of the year, be sure to save all your receipts. you can check out http://familyassist.gov.au/Internet/FAO/fao1.nsf/content/payments-ccb or call centrelink and they will give you a quote as to much they will pay for childcare.
Make sure to start looking early as waitlist can be 6mths or longer. Good luck.
